Osteopathy is a hands-on approach to healthcare recognising the important link between the structures of your body and the way it works. Osteopaths focus on how your skeleton, joints, muscles, nerves and circulation work together to improve your health and well-being.

Osteopaths may be able to assist with the management of musculoskeletal related pain and dysfunction. People typically seek the help of an Osteopath for musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, such as:

  • sore back and neck

  • sore muscles

  • recurring headaches

  • musculoskeletal pain during pregnancy

  • sporting and work injuries

  • arthritis

Using skilled evaluation, diagnosis and a wide range of hands-on techniques, osteopaths may identify important types of dysfunction in your body. Osteopathic treatment uses techniques such as stretching and massage for general treatment of the soft tissues (muscles, tendons and ligaments) along with mobilisation/manipulation of specific joints and soft tissues.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is similar to Acupuncture and is sometimes utilised within a normal Osteopathic consult. Dry needling may be useful for reducing muscle/trigger point pain and tightness, and may decrease the healing time of injuries. If you are interested in trying Dry Needling, ask your practitioner about it at your next visit.
